Process

How an Engagement Works

A written scope, one point of accountability, and a defined path from records to final reporting.

Six Steps

From Inquiry to Delivery

  1. Reach Out

Contact Aurora directly by form, email, or telephone—no referral is required. Introductions from attorneys, bankers, and other advisors are also welcome.

  2. Scoping Call

A short conversation about what the statement needs to accomplish, timing, and fit. A brief client-acceptance review comes before any engagement letter.

  3. Engagement Letter

Scope, fee, and target delivery timing are documented in writing before work begins. If the requested work changes, Aurora discusses and agrees with you on any additional scope and fee before proceeding.

  4. Records

After an engagement begins, Aurora provides a tailored records checklist and an invitation to the secure client portal, where records are exchanged. With your written authorization, Aurora may also request records directly from your advisors.

  5. Preparation

Aurora prepares the statement and related notes using the agreed records and any authorized third-party reports relevant to significant values.

  6. Draft Review and Issuance

Before issuance, Aurora provides a draft for factual review so you can identify corrections, missing information, or updates. Accounting presentation and disclosures are addressed under the applicable reporting framework and agreed scope. For quarterly clients, Aurora refreshes the reporting on the cadence stated in the engagement letter, based on timely receipt of records.

When and Why

The Value of Professional Preparation

Professional preparation turns records created for different purposes into one dated financial statement with related notes. It organizes the financial position under consistent accounting guidance and explains significant amounts, valuation approaches, and estimated tax effects. You and your authorized advisors can work from the same presentation.

This is disciplined preparation, not independent verification: Aurora does not test the underlying information or express an assurance opinion on it. When an outside party is involved, Aurora confirms the required format and service level before the engagement scope is finalized.

A brief conversation can clarify whether you need a statement for a particular date, ongoing quarterly reporting, or both.
